The Casa Agustín Manrique

The plot of land is taken up with an building to the west from the 18th century, and a fenced off garden to the east designed by Manuel Ponce de León y Falcón which was later copied with a few modifications by José Antonio López Echegarreta (1876). There are later refurbishments carried out around 1902.

The house is of traditional design around two courtyards, one main courtyard which opens up at the centre line, and the other one behind for service staff. It is one of the most noteworthy examples of traditional domestic architecture to be found all along calle Castillo.

All the lower floor of the façade is of stonework and the three recesses with alfiz are a distinct feature, that come from the dividing molding between the two floors. the window frames are decorated with arrowheads. The three recesses on the second level are done with the same stonework walls as the inner ones and are rounded off with elaborate décor. The cornice is also stonework, and is crowned by pinnacles. In the three upper recesses are balconies with interlinked parapets.
