The city of Martinsicuro, in the Abruzzo region, in the Italian province of Teramo, was twinned with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on 8th October 2009. Links between Martinsicuro and our city have been forged for many years now, as the Italian shipping flotilla used our international Port of La Luz y Las Palmas as a strategic base. The relationship was cemented by matrimonial celebrations and the seal of friendships which have lasted for many years and have consolidated this further still.
