Order of the Canarian Puppy

The Association Order of the Canarian Puppy, founded in Gran Canaria on 24 April 1991, has an essential social and cultural purpose, non-profit, which is to rescue, live, transmit and defend the internal and external signs of everything related to the effective awareness of Canarian identity, without affiliation to any political party or religious denomination.

It is called an "Order" because it pursues a noble purpose and because it has a common external badge that unifies its members, which is the wide-brimmed hat, made of palm or felt in black, cinnamon or grey, worn by women and men of the seven Canary Islands, both historically and today.

The Houses (Social Headquarters) of the Order are, above all, the meeting places of its Full Members. Throughout the year, numerous activities are organised there on topics of interest to the Canaries, such as readings, discussions, lectures, book and record presentations, painting, sculpture and craft exhibitions, concerts, etc.
