MAPPING - Valverde

Mapping Canarias is a cultural project promoted by the Biblioteca de Canarias: an interactive digital resource that uses geolocation to rediscover the past and present of Canary municipalities. This map of Valverde gathers points of interest of history, art, heritage and memory, prepared by the public libraries of each territory.

The Mapping Valverde project has been devised and developed by the professionals of the public library of Valverde, capital of the island of El Hierro. From this cultural institution, information from many sources has been gathered and adapted to create a resource on the history, heritage and landscape of the town and its municipality. A map that brings closer the complexity of the capital of El Hierro, set in the midlands, and of a territory with its own identity within the archipelago.
