In 1994 the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria installed a commemorative plaque on this building on Pérez Galdós street, where one of the greatest Canarian poets lived: Tomás Morales (Moya, 1884 - Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1921).

The author of Las Rosas de Hércules was the main representative of lyrical modernism in the Canary Islands, along with his great friends Saulo Torón and Alonso Quesada who lived, according to the words of Claudio de la Torre, “closely united and dreamed closely apart”. The trio was later known as "the generation of the three".
