Faya Street Stairs

In the La Isleta neighbourhood, on a stretch of steep stairs on Faya Street, the CNFSN Collective, formed by Tono Cruz and Felo Monzón, carried out in 2025 an unusual artistic intervention with a satisfactory result.

Honouring the maritime memory of the area and its intimate relationship with the Port, the artists transformed this busy staircase into a striking chromatic canvas, where vibrant blues, reds, greens or yellows recall the colours of the boats; the geometric shapes to maritime symbols, and the vegetal motifs to the extraordinary environmental heritage that unfolds in the non-urbanised areas of La Isleta, with its impressive cardones clinging to the nearby volcanic landscape.

The work covers about 200 square metres and was carried out in five intense days in which some local residents collaborated.

The colourfulness and its radiant shapes have transformed this space into a better place, with a pleasant sense of the everyday. We are faced with a clear demonstration that art, in this case urban art, can be a powerful tool for landscape and social transformation.
