Mr Blandy's House

When the Blandy-Brothers company arrived in the Canary Islands, among the properties they acquired was a plot of land in the current Ciudad Jardín that stretched from the seashore, at the current Club Metropol, up to the top of the mountain, today Altavista, where there was a small Golf Club. Mr Blandy established his residence in the building of the current Officers' Residence, on Alejandro Hidalgo street. Mr Blandy knew Laureano de Armas and commissioned him in 1922 to repair and expand this building. His work was especially limited to interior spaces and elements. On the exterior, he incorporated colonnades forming covered galleries.
