The School of Actors is the Higher Centre of Dramatic Art of the Canary Islands authorised by the Government of the Canary Islands to provide these studies. Its overall aim is to contribute to the development of dramatic culture in the Canary Islands. To achieve this objective, the EAC is organised as a regional centre, divided into two campuses (the other is in Santa Cruz de Tenerife) with common organisational, administrative and economic structures. Since 1996 it has offered the Higher Diploma in Dramatic Art specialising in Textual Interpretation.

The type of teaching provided aims primarily to offer students quality artistic training and to guarantee the qualification of future professionals in dramatic art, cinema, television and all artistic and social work based on interpretation.
