Ángel Guerra (Teguise, Lanzarote, 1874 - Madrid, 1950) is the pseudonym by which José Betancort Cabrera pays tribute to the character and the novel that Benito Pérez Galdós published in 1891. In his work, as well as many journalistic articles, we can find titles such as La Lapa, Rincón Isleño, A merced del viento and Del vivir revolucionario, among others.
«When along the river's edge we have walked alone, nobody else but him, our eyes are greeted by this blue immensity which goes on infinitely, making us imagine, create and feel, revealing in the depths of our being such lovely dreams. He also taught us poetry. Where did we drink this? Could it have been in books?»
