Very little is known about this coastal military installation located within the walls, very close to a water tank that was at the level of Genoveses street (today Clavel). It was possibly built at the beginning of the 18th century, in response to the threat of attack due to the War of Spanish Succession.

It was a small-scale construction, projecting in a point towards the marina, with ashlar masonry walls. Its life was short, as the only trace of its existence is found in a city plan created by military engineer Antonio Riviere in 1742. It does not appear in later representations.
