This tribute is the work of the sculptor and sand artist (author of sand sculpture) Etual Ojeda. On the base the following inscription can be read: "Monument to the memory of those who gave their lives for others on 4 January 1979, and also in memory of all those who died in work accidents." It refers to the accident in which 11 workers of a canning company based in the El Rincón area died after inhaling toxic gas.
