In the words of sculptor Miguel Panadero: "This sculpture comes from an idea by Francisco Bello, a swimmer and staunch defender of the beach. I myself, as a swimmer around Las Canteras beach and a sculptor, tried to depict that when one is swimming around, the sea fuses in with the natural surroundings. I was attracted by the idea of creating the silhouette of the swimmer and the sea in one continual block. Also, there is a highly social side to swimming around the beach. You are sharing this activity with a group of friends and this is precisely what led me to represent a group of swimmers".
