Luis Doreste Silva (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1882-1971), was a poet, doctor, and secretary to the Embassador of Spain in Paris, Fernando León y Castillo. He published his Primeras estrofas with a prologue sonnet by Salvador Rueda and an epilogue by Ángel Guerra ; Hosanna en el mar, was a collection of miscellaneous prose and verses, Gran Canaria en la epopeya (Romance de ciego), África rubia and Poema de la Guanchida, among other works.
