Regarding communication infrastructures, in this period of the city's history the three accesses and communication routes with the south, centre and north of the island have been resolved; the last to be solved was the northern access along the coast, with the construction of a slender suspension bridge - designed by engineer José Antonio Torroja - that links with the tunnel that runs from Guanarteme to Las Alcaravaneras and connects the traffic from the north of the island with Avenida Marítima.

The Rincón Bridge [also called Tamaraceite bridge or viaduct] is a viaduct with a single majestic arch 160 metres long made of reinforced concrete and whose walkway is supported by steel cables giving it a curious appearance, like an inverted harp.
