Eucalyptus of La Granja Park
Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Leisure · Subcategory: Singular trees
This magnificent specimen of eucalyptus ( Eucalyptus globulus ) is located on one side of La Granja Park. Its existence predates the inauguration of the park in 1976. It possibly formed part of the old botanical installation that functioned as a forest nursery on the large estate that later became the current park.
The eucalyptus develops its enormous height over a large circular tree pit that also functions as a bench or public seat. It is an evergreen tree and has a twisted trunk with deciduous bark from which strong and robust branches emerge, creating a spectacular crown at its summit.
