This peculiar figure is located on a roundabout on Los Majuelos Avenue. Since its installation in the early 1990s, it has become a landmark of the urban landscape. It is the work of the Czech Jiří Georg Dokoupil, a versatile artist who had already designed a poster for the Santa Cruz carnival in 1987.

The curious sculptural element represents the figure, made of iron and reinforced concrete, of a huge snowman whose white colour is highlighted by the buttons on its suit, a sardonic smile, a carrot-shaped nose, a green bucket as a hat and a broom held in its right arm.

The Snowman sculpture is part of the daily life of the residents of the Southwest District and has undoubtedly become a citizen reference point.
