Writer and educator, Baltasar Champsaur Sicilia (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1856-1934) was above all an ideologue of the school and defender of secularism, with a marked literary vocation as a novelist, poet and essayist. Among his literary production we find Mi muerta, Transformismo and Mi playa . He also wrote political works ( Por el ideal socialista , 1923) and pedagogy ( La escuela laica , 1930).
