The Cairasco Cinema was inaugurated on 13 November 1948 with the screening of the film Mar Abierto by Ramón Torrado. It had several owners, including Manuel Naranjo Ojeda, Manuel Ojeda Montesdeoca and, from 1 July 1949, Jesús Rodríguez Doreste.

The first project of the building was carried out by the architect José Luis Jiménez Domínguez in 1947, although during its construction the building underwent some modifications to allow its expansion. At the time of opening, the auditorium had a total of 566 seats.

The cinema officially closed on 31 May 1985. The last films shown were Seven Women Trapped (Marc Rosman, 1983) and Contamination (Cornel Wilde, 1970). After several years abandoned, the building was demolished in 2000 to build housing.
