Located in the historic centre of the city, this cinema was designed in 1946 by the architect Fernando Delgado de León in collaboration with Antonio Cardona and José Luis Jiménez Domínguez, for the owner José A. Ojeda Rodríguez.

It was a large building with a façade marked by a Baroque imprint and regionalist aspects, where the three large entrance gates stood out. Inside, a rectangular floor housed a hall with a capacity of 512 spectators, as well as a cafeteria, bar, projection booths and a small air-raid shelter (the Second World War had just ended and seven years earlier the Civil War) located under the stage and screen.

The construction of the building was completed on 30 December 1946, and on 3 January the following year the cinema was inaugurated with the screening of a western titled Reina de Plata , a 1942 production by director Lloyd Bacon. Ticket prices ranged from 3.50 to 5 pesetas, depending on the day of the show.

The crisis of cinemas in the 1980s led this cinema to become an X-rated theatre, and it operated as such for two years until its definitive closure on 30 June 1988.

The building remained standing for a few more years until it was demolished to make way for another large building intended to house private residences and offices.
