The San José Clinic

The San José Clinic was once an asylum, hospital and school for labourers and their children, and was the brainchild of Bartolomé Apolinario. This is a highly interesting building, and is still used as the hospital today. It is built around a central courtyard on two floors on a long centreline that overlooks the sea, with a large arcade that leads on to all the rooms on the lower floor and a hanging gallery standing on brackets and pillars on the top floor, which are rounded off by octagonal pieces.
