Graciliano Afonso (1775-1861). An educator, priest, politician and philanthropist. His high intellectual skills would help him in successive readings and testing situations such as his exile, which illuminated a large amount of his literary works. Among his finest works are El juicio de Dios o la reina Ico and Oda al Teide.
