Martín Chirino manages to show once again how the age-old ubiquitous spiral sign increases in complexity when it is put in an artistic setting. "There is a spiral that causes an intense emotion within me which I consider a starting point for launching this one. The spiral drawn for the first time over the enormous walls of lava of the Canary Islands have been taking shape all through my work process and has transformed into a sculpture that is now practically a symbol in itself", explains the sculptor, who with the omnipresence of the spiral and iron has created his own poetic identity and meaning.
