The Guardians of the Terrero

The Guardians of the Terrero is a tribute to the traditional Canarian wrestling sport. This set of two opposing sculptures framed by their own rectangular support is reinforced by circular frames that give the work greater presence thanks to the interplay of the two geometric shapes. Manolo González opts to offer a calm vision of Canarian wrestling, in which the young wrestler is in the moments before the grip. The result is a strongly classicist image, in which the human figure is the protagonist.
