Roque Morera (1843-1898) is the last of the Canarian romantic poets. He worked as a typesetter and actively collaborated in the periodical press of his time. He led a travelling and extravagant life, cultivating a bohemian and nonconformist image of himself. Despite his defective education, the inspiration he found in the work of Espronceda led him to cultivate a type of hyper-romantic, passionate and superficial poetry. From 1879 he published, in booklets, a book of verses entitled Delirios de un errante , whose definitive edition is from 1881.
