Camino de Pescadores

Some sources tell us that this path is one of the oldest opened towards the interior of the island, although it only appears on historical maps at the beginning of the 19th century.

The Camino de Pescadores started from the south side of the San Carlos barracks to, heading west, take the current route of Buenos Aires avenue. It extended to what is now Reyes Católicos avenue, then known as Camino de la Costa.

It was an alternative route to the San Sebastián path. Possibly the name Pescadores (Fishermen) comes from the fact that it was travelled by people who sold the fish caught and landed on the beaches of Santa Cruz.
