Tribute to Senén the Teacher

On one of the walls of a small square in the village of Barranco Grande, next to the San Felipe Elderly Association, the urban artist Joel McFly painted at the beginning of 2024 a heartfelt tribute mural to the teacher Senén Pérez (Santa Cruz de La Palma, 1959), who after twenty-eight years as a teacher at CEIP Bethencourt y Molina, left an important legacy in the area.

The mural depicts the honouree amidst the natural territory he so loved and shared with his students.  

Grandson, son and brother of teachers, Senén will always be remembered for his exemplary career. Affectionate and approachable, defender of cultural and natural heritage, the teacher was loved mainly thanks to his extraordinary empathy.
