Cabezo del Tejo Viewpoint

This impressive place is accessed via a route, with restricted access, through trails amid the large forest mass of Anaga. From the road to Chamorga (TF-123), past kilometre point 6, we will see signs leading us along a forest track to the Cabezo del Tejo Viewpoint. It can also be reached by following the route from Pijaral, or from the former recreational area of La Ensillada.

After crossing the laurel forest along the trail, we will reach, after a good walk, this viewpoint which is configured as a magnificent balcony elevated 800 metres above sea level. From here we can contemplate the rugged northern coast of Anaga, with its impressive views and even, on clear days, it is possible to see the peak of Teide. Besides being a beautiful excursion, the tranquillity of the place and its unique views make Cabezo del Tejo a different kind of viewpoint.

It should be noted that to reach the viewpoint one must cross an area of a nature reserve with the highest degree of environmental protection. To guarantee the conservation of its fragile ecosystem, the authorities have decided that to enter it a special free permit is required, which can be requested online.
