Bridge of La Gloria

Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Memory · Subcategory: Sites of memory · Year: S. XVIII

Very little is known about this crossing that spanned the Aceite ravine or "El Barranquillo" at the height of the former La Gloria street, today Juan de Padrón.

Made of wood over this steep and deep part of the ravine, its length would not have been very long, as the ravine slopes were close by. It connected the northern part of the then Calle del Castillo with the Vilaflor or La Consolación neighbourhood, which arose above the Dominican convent.

This bridge possibly disappeared at the beginning of the 19th century, when the ravine was vaulted, forming the current Imeldo Serís street.
