Mandillo Bridge

This bridge, now disappeared, spanned the upper part of the Aceite ravine, which originates on the slope of Las Mesas mountain and now runs, in its middle and final section, beneath Imeldo Serís Street (formerly Barranquillo Street).

The bridge was built around 1812 at the initiative of Francisco Mandillo, owner of the land where it stood, with the aim of crossing the torrent that ran through the current Rambla de Santa Cruz and flowed behind the former Jardín de Aclimatación located there.

The bridge was constructed as an arch and had a single span. It was removed in 1910 when the area began to be urbanised.
