Bridge of Our Lady of Carmen

This name was given to the small wooden bridge built in the first half of the 18th century that crossed the Aceite ravine, also known as "El Barranquillo", at the height of Los Malteses or Las Lonjas street, today La Candelaria.

It was the second, after La Caleta bridge located somewhat lower down, in a series of bridges that crossed this ravine whose course runs between the Las Mesas mountain and the sea. It became urban, at that time, at the height of the current Suárez Guerra street, then called San Roque.  

The Bridge of Our Lady of Carmen probably existed until 1810, when the Barranquillo was vaulted in its final stretch.
