Located at the south-eastern end of the city, crowning the southern slope of the working-class neighbourhood of Salto del Negro, we find this private house designed by architects Jaime Rodríguez Gil and Paula Cabrera Fry.

Completed in 2014, it is broadly a sturdy and compact volume of exposed concrete partially pierced to create light wells.

While the main façade is opaque and only features a huge opening with elaborated wooden entrances for the garage and the house, the rear façade, which opens to the north, has large windows.

Inside, the spaces are distributed over two floors. On the upper floor, at street level, towards the façade, there is a garage for two vehicles, a toilet, the entrance and the staircase access to the roof. A transverse courtyard and the staircase separate this from the rest of the programme on this floor. To the north are the living-dining room and the kitchen. On the lower floor, below street level, the three bedrooms face the façade, leaving the bathrooms and the library towards the exposed reinforced concrete retaining wall. Three light wells help these rear rooms also have natural light and ventilation.
