Secundino Delgado (1867-1912) expressed like few others the ideals of social and political emancipation of the Canary archipelago. His autobiographical work (signed with the pseudonym Antonio Rodríguez López) ¡Vacaguaré...! (Vía Crucis), written during his imprisonment for political reasons, is a narrative and a portrait of the last years of his life. He also wrote Alegrías y penas , Clary , Mi peral , El mejor de los mundos , etc.
