On 19th March 2012 the Poet Domingo Rivero Museum came into being. In this way, a double commitment was achieved, firstly with the poet's works being brought to light, and at the same time, with many people who were interested in the life and literary works of Domingo Rivero González (Arucas, 1852 − Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1929).

The project started out in 2004, and its materialization is fundamentally down to the age old custody on the part of the poet's family -starting with his wife, Nieves del Castillo-Olivares y Fierro- of all his personal and literary legacy. Thanks to this, an important existential journey of his life has been pieced together, primarily featuring his truly outstanding work, while not taking anything away from his attitude towards all the events in his life he had to deal with.
