Domingo Rivero (1852-1929), was a remarkable poet who never actually published his works, but just handed out copies of his verses to a few of his friends (Saulo Torón, Alonso Quesada and Tomás Morales). Some of his stand out poems are La silla, A los muebles de mi cuarto, La Victoria sin alas, El muelle viejo, El humilde sendero and Piedra canaria. His poem Yo a mi cuerpo is, however, his most celebrated work.
