Miranda House

Building erected in the 18th century and linked to the Miranda family, featuring typological characteristics typical of Canarian buildings.

On its façade there are two defining elements: the uncovered balcony and the large eaves, unusual in Santa Cruz. The house was rebuilt a few years ago, especially in the interior bays, but even so the usual layout in this type of commercial houses can still be appreciated: mezzanine as a work area (offices and desks), a basement below ground level for storage, and family living quarters on the upper floors.

The building underwent an interesting renovation at the turn of the 19th to 20th century, focused on three parts: the hallway which is closed with a splendid grille; the domestic chapel on the staircase landing; and finally, a bedroom with neo-Islamic (Nasrid) decoration.
