Casa Pedreira

Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Architecture · Subcategory: Civil architecture · Year: 1939 · Authors: José Enrique Marrero Regalado

This apparent and attractive building of regionalist typology was designed in 1938 by the architect José Enrique Marrero Regalado as a single-family home for the owner Concepción Pereira Gómez.

For the wonderful plot located in this part of the Rambla, still unurbanised at that time, Marrero conceived a house with a garden, chalet-style, highlighting the tall tower, the enclosed balcony on the façade, and the use of traditional materials such as wood and tiles.

It was one of the architect's first attempts in this vernacular typology after leaving behind rationalist principles. The result is a picturesque building that stands out for its elegance.
