Tenerife Marine Sports Centre CIDEMAT
Santa Cruz de Tenerife · Category: Leisure · Subcategory: Sports · Year: 1991
The Tenerife Marine Sports Centre (Cidemat) is located by the sea, very close to the Valleseco neighbourhood. It was established in 1991, when the Tenerife Island Council aimed to set up a sailing school on the coast of Santa Cruz. Since then, it has welcomed athletes of all ages who enjoy the opportunity to connect with the marine environment through the practice of nautical sports.
Its facilities include offices, changing rooms, equipment storage, workshop, classrooms, a pool for diving and swimming initiation, parking area for dinghies, kayaks and windsurf boards. The Centre also offers introductory courses in ten different nautical disciplines (sailing, aquafitness, windsurfing, scuba diving, water skiing, canoeing, among others). For this purpose, it has 14 motor auxiliary boats, 50 sailing boats, 13 windsurf boards, 25 kayaks, life jackets, wetsuits, complete scuba diving equipment, recreational materials in the swimming pool for swimming, etc.
Cidemat offers the possibility to practise sport and leisure linked to the sea, an element, moreover, intrinsic to the city of Santa Cruz.
