Talavera Mountain

At the summit of this volcanic cone, 668 metres above sea level, at the foot of a geodetic vertex marker, there is a basin measuring 55 by 48 centimetres, associated with three panels bearing rock engravings of cruciform motifs made by incision technique. Very close to them are also several channels and a small cupule. All these features may be associated with aboriginal religious practices at the peak of this unique mountain.

In the small ravine running along the southern part of the mountain, new engravings with linear and geometric motifs are found, including an interesting five-pointed star, made by incision over scratching.
