La Ninfa Necropolis

The La Ninfa necropolis was discovered in 1888 on the slopes of the Barranco de Ancheta, a name that may be a corruption of the Guanche toponym Areheta. This watercourse originates in Lomo de las Casillas, being interrupted in its search for the sea by the failed and useless Los Campitos dam. Shortly afterwards, the ravine narrows and it is here, in the steepest part of its course, next to the Ifara-La Ninfa housing development, where the aboriginal necropolis was discovered, of which no trace remains today.
