The Centro Insular de Deportes de Gran Canaria (CID in Spanish) is one of the most emblematic sports facilities on the island. Many sports disciplines have been played at this venue along the Avenida Marítima over the last 25 years, and has been the "home" stadium for leading clubs including CB Gran Canaria (in the ACB Basketball league), CB Islas Canarias (in the Women's Basketball league) and the CV Calvo Sotelo (in Men's Volleyball Superleague).

As well as a centre court with room for 5,000 spectators, the CID has a 25 metre covered pool with six lanes, plus several other sports areas, with all types of disciplines available, including body building, martial arts, spinning, group fitness activities, etc.
