The Gran Canaria Arena is the property of the Cabildo Insular Government, and is a multipurpose building catering for all needs on the island, ranging from sports events to cultural and musical shows. It is an enclosed structure providing a cosy feeling for spectators. 

The Multipurpose Palace covers an area of 11,485 square metres, and is a building on a large scale with some interesting stats. Nearly 4,000 tons of structural steel have been used for its construction; 28,000 metros square metres of concrete; there are 33 toilets, and 270 car parking spaces, with a further 2,051 square metres given over to a bus parking area. 

The building was designed by architectural firm LLPS, comprising Juan Llorente, Eduardo Pérez and Miguel Ángel Sánchez.
