Inline Skating Rink

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria · Category: Leisure · Subcategory: Sports

This is a sports area on the roof of the Parque de Santa Telmo Bus Station, known as the Plaza de los Escritores, aimed at skating practice.

This space has an area of 3,085 m², in which a ring track will be installed around the square and two central spaces will be set up to practise roller hockey. The pavement of the skating areas consists of a primer layer made of resin and quartz aggregates which, once dry, is polished to create a continuous surface that allows total smooth gliding without obstacles.

The fundamental objective of this initiative is to offer skaters an optimally conditioned space for practising this sport, which is increasingly popular. Inline skating is a discipline that emerged worldwide as an alternative to ice skating. The possibility of practising this sport without needing an ice surface has multiplied its popularity and the number of practitioners in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which until now has its main meeting point in the Plaza de Canarias, behind the Parque de Santa Catalina.
