Incube Building

Located in the island's fairground, this building dedicated to commercial activities and housing offices for companies was designed in the early second decade of the 21st century by architects Ángela Ruiz and Pedro Romera.

The building completes a corner of a block with a rectangular piece divided transversely, thus providing greater ventilation and natural lighting and minimising energy input. The main front is defined by a façade in which certain panels of the enclosure are alternately recessed to create balconies and patios, where light enters indirectly through perpendicular openings. The alternating offset of strips generates a vertical rhythm that defines the voids, forming a series of skylights at the rear of the roof. 

Inside, starting from an initial triple-height lobby, a series of ramps and stairs run through the three levels where fourteen offices, a common work area, training classrooms, event rooms and a cafeteria are distributed. 

The work was carried out in 2012 in just five months, thanks to its construction from a skeleton of metal pillars and beams, prefabricated slabs and exterior enclosures of modular panels. Everything was ready for its rapid assembly. The predominant materials are concrete, glass and aluminium.

The  Incube naturally integrates into the economic and social environment of its location, with special care in its environmental-energy design, and in accordance with the demands for which it was created.
