This important development was carried out in 2019 in the development of the port facade between the Santa Catalina dock and the Naval Base, a key space as it serves as the gateway for the numerous cruise passengers arriving in the city. 

The project, promoted by the Urban Planning area of the City Council, was drafted by architects Pedro Romera García and Ángela Ruiz Martínez, clearly inspired by the traditional lateen sail, extracting its triangular geometry to adapt to the environment. 

The work contains two significant elements: on the one hand, a linear promenade that functions as a viewpoint with a glass railing on the sea side; on the other, two canopies supported by various aluminium pillars that provide shade and whose interlacing generates a play of reflections on the mirrored surfaces. 

The construction is based on two basic materials: concrete and glass. Both are combined in three layers at different levels. The first is flush with the existing promenade, repeating the material used to generate continuity. The other two layers are one and two metres below the promenade. Finally, a large suspended terrace elevates the citizen above the sea.

The Seafront, with its 5,484 square metres, is an urban element that facilitates transit to other urban layouts such as Santa Catalina Park, Las Canteras beach or the surroundings of Avenida Mesa y López.
