The writer José Luis Correa (Las Palmas, 1962) emerged at the beginning of this century in the literary genre of noir novels with a series featuring detective Ricardo Blanco as the protagonist.

The fifth case of this character is found in the novel titled Our Lady of the Moon from 2012. A young journalist investigating the mystery related to an old painting disappears without a trace; a pilgrim, badly injured and bloodied, is found wandering at night along a road in Tafira. From these events begins the case in which detective Ricardo Blanco takes action.

"... Up to three cars almost ran him over on the Tafira road. The third driver, the one who called 112, stated that the guy was walking along the dark hard shoulder and didn’t even flinch when they honked at him..."
