This electric transformation tower located between Jovellanos and Quintana streets was designed in the first decade of the 20th century, shortly after the urban lighting of Las Palmas was inaugurated in 1899.

The building, attributed to the architect Fernando Navarro, is configured as a small prismatic tower whose base body is limited in height by battlements with a pronounced cornice on corbels and openings with triangular lintels with a wider moulding at the corners.

Its modernist appearance has little to do with the rationalist architecture that would be built in the area decades later, although its careful figure fits quite well into the environment.

Its functional character does not neglect aesthetics at all.
