Perojo Street

In the Laureano Arroyo Plan for the city (1896), the calle Perojo formed part of the main link route all the way to the Port, planned as the northern exit to the city along a line equidistant to the sea and the cornice. It was configured as the prolongation of calle Triana, but plans were aborted, so the street acquired an almost archaeological slant. All together the street was a model for the formation of the city in the first few decades of the 20th century, where new types of buildings were erected.

It is a high quality architectural ensemble, made up of buildings of between two or three storeys, designed around this time by "heavyweight" architects such as Laureano Arroyo and Fernando Navarro, who were responsible for the majority of them, through to Rafael Massanet and Miguel Martín.
