Zaragoza is the sixth novel of the first series of the Episodios Nacionales by Benito Pérez Galdós. It continues the story of the previous chapter in the series, Napoleón en Chamartín . Mixing fiction and historical reality once again, the novel narrates the second siege of Zaragoza, which took place between January and February 1809, during the War of Independence between Spain and France. The protagonist is again the man from Cádiz, Gabriel de Araceli.
