Cardón of El Chorrillo

This spectacular specimen of Canarian cardón ( Euphorbia canariensis ) is located about 360 metres above sea level, in a small ravine near two water channels, very close to the buildings of the El Chorrillo neighbourhood in Santa Cruz. The cardón reaches a perimeter of 35.20 m and has a height of more than 6 m, making it one of the largest specimens in Tenerife. Although it is located in an area not protected by the Network of Protected Natural Spaces, from a technical point of view, the Cardón of El Chorrillo is classified as of Regional interest for protection purposes.
