This beautiful dragon tree ( Dracaena draco ) was donated to the city in 1974 by Alfonso Santaella Cayol. At the time of being transplanted to this central square, the specimen was already over 70 years old. Its significant presence, which seems to take us back to remote times, is suitably framed in this representative urban landscape, always well landscaped and beside the sculpture representing the image of the city: the chicharro.
